Metaphysics ,
what is considered "the Queen of Sciences",
or first philosophy.
Again, it was understood to refer to the chronological or pedagogical order among our philosophical studies, so that the "metaphysical sciences" would mean "those that we study after having mastered the sciences that deal with the physical world".
The word metaphysics derives from the Greek meaning "Beyond, after or upon" going back to Aristotelean philosophy. Aristotle, who taught that all things derive from a single first cause or Arche.
Including the studies of being and existence, definition of entities physical or mental. Studying Gods (Monotheism, Polytheism, Atheism / Panentheism-Pantheism) and our world, questioning the devine, existence, creation and spiritual matters for the human kind on Earth.
Metaphysics is the good study of "Ora-lege-relege-labora et invenies meaning that "Read-reread-work and you will discover" is truely correct in the general but also science field as well as trying to find out "Cogito ergo sum - I think therefore I am" can be real or just another missleading conception in our current dimension.
Metaphysics is the Universe / space-time, Earth/Nature and us / living creatures.
Metaphysics is necessary, without it we never would ask questions, nor doubt or explore deeper inside the known or unknown. We would never question our own mind and thinking that everything has a mind rather than everything exists in a mind. We know that we have a body (habeas corpus) but many of us walk around not questioning nor trying to find out what makes us click, just like empty minds. What if ... how could this happen ... what if the Earth is not real ... what if we actually do not exist at all and what could Earth and us be if we had made different decisions back then. Metaphysics most probably has been established/created through our religious questioning and our own question on existence. Why are we here, why is Earth here and everything around us -- is there anything missing or should it be different (in our own minds).
In ancient Greek all scientific questions were given to the Metaphysicians (Philosophers)
People always ask "Why / how do you know, forgetting that their questions have been answered and they should be happy but still go ahead and can not resist in asking that very last remaining famous question (as if knowing is mystery and the question itself secondary important at this moment). So always be prepared to be asked that last remaining question "How do you know" ?!
Because of this "How do you know" `question` a new branch of philosophy developed called `Epistemology` (how we know).
Metaphysics (traditionally) attempts to answer two of our basic questions in the easiest to understand way: a) What is there and b) what is it like.
It is rather difficult to define the absolute and correct fully bulletproof meaning of what Metaphysics all could mean and combine. Trying to explain what/who we are and what we are doing in this world surrounded by other unknowns and beyond.
