Metaphysical Healing

I learned that there is a much greater connection between the people in the healing profession than I had ever before known of or considered, both past and present and that both have had an important impact on each other.

I also learned that I can use parts of the lessons to harness and fine tune parts of my own abilities that still need the rough edges smoothed.

I learned that the abilities I have in terms of healing can be fine tuned with a little effort and practice.

I like the fact that I can re visit some of the lessons to hone and fine tune some parts of my abilities.

I don't really think there was very much to dislike about this course, except reading on and on about the African Healers was a tad bit tedious.
I have a greater connection to Native American Healers.
In general, the course was fascinating.

What I can relate to in terms of this course, is that I have already been doing healing for others for several years, with a great deal of success.

Although what I do is quite a bit different, as most of my work is distance instead of hands on, as per being a shut in and recluse, I don't do anything to bring on these abilities, except to be able to do deep visualization, sending that energy from my heart chakra.
For example; When my Grandmother broke her arm, I felt it in my own arm.

I was able to go to her at night, as she slept, as my Astral or Higher Self, placing a "White Light Cast" over her arm, allowing it to heal more quickly, much to the surprise of her doctors.

They were stunned with the rate of speed at which her arm healed.
All it requires now, is just a brace.

I think I would like to know more about seeing Auras, although I will likely go back and try to re study that lesson again, to see if I can fine tune that.

I will also see if I can try to complete the lessons that I was not able to or complete to any degree.

Metaphysical Healing

Final Essay
Rev. Barry Deel

The master of metaphysical healing was quite informative and yet refreshing.  I very much like the course in its layout and the way it was presented.  The diversity that is allowed throughout the course makes it ideal for any faith or belief.  I also liked the terms and vocabulary that were given.  I found them to be very useful in explaining information and the way things happen in a healing to my new clients.  They seemed to understand and relate better to me and the healing they were receiving.

I especially liked the lessons on the healer's morals and ethics and code of conduct.  I have been a healing practitioner now for over twenty years and have taken quite a few courses and classes and none have touched on this subject as well as this course.  I am also very impressed, being a health care professional, that there were lessons on taking a medical history.  I was glad to see that the course presented you with actual forms for taking a medical history that you could use in your healing practice as well as a disclaimer that the healer can present to the client for a signature.

How to properly handle clients that have mental or substance abuse issues was also something that I was not expecting to see.  The lessons and the way that the healer should handle these types of clients were very good.  As a healer, I also like the fact that the course gave you examples and ways to handle presenting information to a client in order to get them to see a medical doctor without the healer diagnosing their client.

I would like to see the master of metaphysical healing course extended by maybe three additional lessons.  Those lessons being on subjects like "What to do when healing does not work in the eyes of the client."  "What to do or say when a healing relationship should come to a close."  "How a healer goes about getting insured and registered."  These are just a few that I think will enhance the course.

Over all the master of metaphysical healing is a course that I would respectfully suggest to other healers in order to bring about some form of unified way of service and professional conduct here in the United States.

Metaphysical Healing Course

From:  Rev. Joe

Subject: Lesson 12,  Concept of Disease

To all my Fellow Healers;

In the tradition African and Shamanic Cultures which I am not familiar with, I’m familiar with a lot of different cultures of healer and out of respect to their rituals some I agree with and others I let go beside me. I know from my experiences that different countries have rituals and beliefs that are only passed down to family or tribal person of interest so to protect these secrets.
The Native American Indian have a proud tradition of their culture rituals that some of their own do not have the privilege of knowing all the deep secrets.

I’m familiar with Reiki and following the Path as close as possible. I have been a Reiki for many years and I have experienced different types of  channeled symbols, distant healings, charka healings on people, animals, nature, situations, medicines, even a battery and a lot more. In teaching Reiki, I allow the student to remember what he or she has always have known but needs a little help to push them in motion or a kick start. When I treat clients that has problems with illness or a disease, I have to think back about the clients history information of growing up and conflict that he or she has encountered large or small that could led to karma.  We push aside the fears, guilt, hate, held restatement  and other horrified events that has happened in their life time. When we think of all the karma and how it relates to illness or disease, and how this disharmony effects our system or chakras, then we can understand the importance of forgiveness and voicing our opinions and not to hold these wrong doings in just to please other people or relatives.

Once a lady come to me thinking she had evil in her, it wasn’t any evil in her, she needed to be balanced through the chakra system I assisted her in coming back to reality state.
Another time I worked with a terminal cancer patient by relieving some of the fears of dieing and smoothing some ruff areas of karma, forgiveness a release of old bad memories that had stayed with him for years. One of the hardest to do is to forgive yourself for some bad or incorrect decisions that has tormented one self for years only to come up with cancer or another disease.

I speaking about the soul I believe the soul is separated from the body and souls has no parts to loose.

I recommend reading and looking into the different cultures of healing and  deciding which  you would like to practice but at the same time remembering what is important to you, not what pleases others. Be honest about your feelings do not get caught up in the Ego ritual.
Thank you for allowing me to share my opinions about this lesson.

Rev. Joe

A Course In Miracles Study

Essay: Surrendering Attachment to Results
Name:  Elizabeth S. Hamilton

I enjoyed each lesson and feel I benefited from reading, pondering and responding to those requested.  For me, the Lesson 14 is the most challenging, so think I will respond to this one.  It is not that any of the lessons is easy, that's for sure, but Lesson 14 stands out.

Giving up attachment to results seems to go against everything that we were taught as students in school, at work and at play.  We are always fixated on "getting" something for our efforts.   The lesson refers to prayer as a means to ask God to give us or to create something for us.  And so the have the evidence that we have admitted to 'lack'; and at this point, we are buying into fear.   For, if we feel lack, we feel fear.  There is no other way of perceiving lack.  Remember, there is either Love or Fear - and anything that is not Love is Fear.  So if we are feeling lack, we are not having loving thoughts, so, therefore, we are having Fear thoughts.    We need to be accepting at all times of exactly where we are.  For it is only in the Now of existence where we have the power.   Any time we are attached to some other effect , rather than accepting the present as God sends us, we are having attachment to results and are actually accepting Fear into our lives.

Accepting Fear thinking is not God's intention for us.  We are creating, have created, or will create exclusively to the degree to which we accept the Present.  After all, isn't it all about accepting the present and making the very most of it?   For if we are not living, accepting, loving, forgiving in the Present,  we are either living in the past or future, neither of which really exist.   Giving up attachment to results also means giving into God.  What is the reality of giving into God?   For one, it is celebrating, being thankful and loving what we already have - the abundance we have, the joy we have - all of the things we have and are creating.   .......As I type this essay, I am totally grateful for these fingers, this mind, this brain, the music I hear in the background, the warm room where I sit, the computer on which I am typing and the honor of getting to participate in this program, and so on.    How difficult it is to give up attachment to a future result even though I a thankful and participate in the present moment.   I must know that all will unfold as I embrace the present moment.  For in the present moment I am sending out either positive or negative thoughts as I sit and type this essay.

Asking God for 'things', people, money, relationship indicates a lack of having what we already need.  I admit that when I do ask for something, something else always seems to pop up!  And the thing or person that pops up is exactly what we needed in the first place, or what I needed in the first place!    How funny life is.   For example, right now in my career, things do not seem to be coming out the way I thought they would.   Classes are small and clients are few.   So messages are here. And right now I am learning that all my circumstances are here to teach me important lessons that I need to learn....or the "results" I am experiencing would not be manifesting now.  So for me, it is about totally accepting what comes my way without attachment to what I thought I wanted!   For what I really want for my highest good IS happening right now.   And I might pray:  God, thank you for the present moment. I have everything I need right now.  I know and am aware that everything in my life is unfolding exactly the way it needs.  And I am thankful to have learned in this life that you, not I, am in charge.  Give me the grace to let go my ego and embrace all present moments.

Suggestion:  Review and edit all the 'typos'.  There are not so many, but correcting them would improve the presentation of script.

One other note:  Forgiveness:  There is no one or anything to forgive really.  Forgiveness, to me, means the ability to let go of a relationship's effects and know that any Fear thoughts are only letting me know that it is Love that is only real.    "Teach only love, for this is what you are."  This is my favorite

saying in ACIM.  Remaining here, celebrating here and growing here is an honor.  Fear thoughts are only looking for Love.  They are prompts that we need to learn to see the Love in all life's situations.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this program, Amy and Loretta.  It is interesting that this came along at this time in my life when I am in this amazing transition in career, location and relationship.
Bye bye for now.

Metaphysical Healing

Metaphysical Healing Essay 1: Healing Practices in the United States
Rev. Ira J. Potter

Technology-wise, the United States is one of the global leaders in healing. Hospitals here offer the most advanced diagnosis and treatment options available anywhere, and groundbreaking discoveries in almost all categories are happening with more and more frequency as technology becomes more advanced. Provided you have the means to pay for it, there are few places in the world to receive better medical care.

In addition to Western medicine, there is a plethora of other treatment options available. Acupuncture continues to grow in popularity, now with more than 50 accredited schools in 19 states specifically geared towards teaching the Eastern medicinal art. This art consists of applying needles to various points in the body known to practitioners as meridians that the body's natural energy, or qi, flows along. Western medicine has yet to determine the medicinal value of acupuncture, however, and at best says it acts as a placebo effect.

Alternative medicine is also becoming more prevalent in U.S. society as more people turn to herbal remedies due to the rising cost of prescription medication. Garlic and Echinacea are very popular natural antibiotics, and ginkgo bilopa is a bestseller for improving brain and memory function. Ginkgo has also been used to combat asthma and lung congestion, and to generally promote physical and mental well being. Ginseng is another big seller because it is believed to improve physical performance and help boost the body's natural defenses. Increasing numbers of people have also begun to use fish oil extract in recent years because of its omega-3 content, which helps control cholesterol. Omega-3s are also believed to provide relief from a wide range of problems including arthritis, depression and migraines.

Another alternative medical art gaining popularity in the U.S. is the Indian Ayurveda, which relies heavily on oils for various treatments. This system of medicine also promotes an entire dietary plan, and employs the use of vegetable drugs like cardamom and cinnamon. Cardamom, in particular, is used to treat a wide range of ailments from teeth and gum infections to breaking up kidney and gallstones. It has also been used as an antidote for snake and scorpion venom.

Yoga and meditation are also widely used in the United States for mental and physical improvement. Nintendo's Wii Fit includes some beginner and advanced yoga poses that have been a hit with the public, making Wii Fit Nintendo's most popular, and by extension best selling, game for the Wii game system. More and more people are discovering the benefits of both yoga and meditation with the former being taught in health spas and community centers across the country. Faith healing can also be found here, although unfortunately most "faith healers" are usually found to be charlatans exploiting honest people's beliefs for a profit. Some are said to possess the power to lay on hands, but belief of this in the United States is minimal in the general public.

The United States offers an ever-increasing variety of healing practices from all over the world. Traditional modern western medicine, traditional eastern medicine, alternative medicines and everything in between can be found here. The federal government, and the Federal Drug Administration in particular, continues to frown upon alternative medicine, contesting that modern medicine is the best method of curing ailments and diseases. But as modern medicine becomes increasingly more expensive more people are turning to and rediscovering the benefits that alternative medicine has to offer, and usually at a much more affordable cost.

Metaphysical Healing Course

From:  Rev. Joe

Subject: Lesson 11,  Other Healing Methods

To all my Fellow Healers;

This is an exciting topic Other Healing Methods, by now all we have learned about our bodies and how the different organs work together in healing itself by the assistance of a Healer channeling much needed energy to the client to start the self healing process.

It is a blessing from God that the people in South Africa believe that God is the Creator of the Sea and that by bathing in the salt water cast out evil spirits a healing affect through these waters. Even in the west we have the history of bathing in the Sea’s of salt water to start the healing process of a large variety of different diseases, illness & open wounds greatly improves the likely hood of a faster recovery.  Not only bathing but drinking certain portions of salt water helps to purify our inner systems, that cleanses and rid our pipes of all types of infections.
In the USA we who have indulged in heavy alcohol use and have had the opportunities to sober up quickly by drinking black coffee and only a good dose of salt which the results are quite an experience coming up and going through the other parts of our body to achieve  a remarkable result of a mission accomplished.
Other ways to pull toxic agents from our body is the use of Epson Salt, to pull the toxics out of our body with healing results. Vinegars is another way to soothe the body from sun burns and other burns due to some acids. God has given all to us the partake and use as much as needed to heal ourselves of different illness and diseases.
Once I visited a friend and she was boiling garlic cloves, she said you want some, sure this was some strong garlic tea and I remember my grandmother speaking about all the different illness that the properties of garlic had in healing the natural way. Garlic controls blood pressure, destroys certain types of cancer cells, excellent digestive aid just to name a few of what this plant does.
A internal Infusion such as Tabasco Sauce can aid in arthritis, Fenugreek as gargle, can relieve sore throat, lowers blood sugar, Eucalyptus helps in colds & flu & hay fever, Horehound Tea aids in colds, flues & many respiratory problems and Dandelion Tea help rid body of excess water & salt. Poke Weed is deadly poison when eaten raw but when made as a Decoction, boiled several times, become a very good and healthy plant that can be eaten, has also been used as a laxative and pain relief, according to some Native American friends. My father was a recovering alcoholic for years and when he got up into his eighties his doctor recommended he drink three beers (only) a day, would help his bowels move easier and put a smile on his face, that’s a good brew.
There are thousands of different herb, spices & some plants have so much healing powers in them that Professional Doctors have no clue how the herb world works to assist people in the healing process. Most all herbs take longer to kick in than prescriptions medicines but in the long run the herb are safer and better for people.
How is it that  people get ill? (as an example) a 59 year old man/woman religiously goes to church every Sunday, holds their opinions or feeling back, holds resentments about situations, gets cancer and dies. As an (example) a 80 year old male/female drinks alcohol religiously, smokes, uses bad language, tells everyone their opinion of a situation, and don’t care what others think and is disease free, sure not all people are like this but unfortunately most people are just that way. Holding fears, anger, hold on to resentments, you know what I’m speaking about, when we do all this we are feeding an illness that is just waiting for a chance to break through to manifest inside you undetected for years, only for a doctor to tell you are going to die early because you have a disease, illness or cancer. An old wise man told me one day God doesn’t want people to be good, he wants people to be honest in life, God doesn’t want his creation to be sad, living with pains he wishes his creations to be honest and happy.
Natural healing comes when we are thinking positive, acting positive and feeling positive in every aspect of a person life, share you feelings with other and share you thoughts. We have two choices in our life, Yes or No, there is nothing in the middle such as trying. You can speak to God, to a tree, to no one but at the end of the day be happy about your life. For one day be selfish to yourself and look in the mirror and tell yourself how much you love yourself and love your body. That’s how people stay well and use God’s gifts more often.

Thank you for allowing me to share my opinions about this lesson.

Staying in the Light gets easy when it’s practiced each day and loving yourself and others rids your ego, paying it forward helps everybody and forgiving yourself for some incorrect moves aids you in rids you of some troubles.

Rev. Joe

Metaphysical Healing

Thomas Voss

"Healing can be defined as the ability to heal all levels of a person's being, through animating the vital force within."

From the time I was a boy in catechism class at our little Episcopal Church the idea of healing with a touch fascinated me. The "laying on of hands" has come up time and time again throughout my life. The way Jesus did things had class. When I saw that ULC Seminary offered a course in Metaphysical Healing I was on board in a heart beat. And, I was very pleased that it was offered by Dr./Rev. Katharine Kruger. Her name and work in South Africa had come up before as a healer and educator. I was sure she would have a great course and I wasn't disappointed.

We have all heard about auras, charkas, and other mysterious things from the Eastern religions. For most of my life it just baffled me how anyone could go around talking about that sort of thing keeping a straight face. Dr. Kruger offers all these topics plus the seven subtle bodies together with the human endocrine system in her course. And, all the while, she intricately weaves them together in a believable approach to healing. For me, finally, it was easy to associate high energy levels in and around powerful endocrine glands with healing energy of the chakras. From there it wasn't hard to go with a system of Auric fibers connecting the subtle bodies with the charkas together with the Peripheral Nervous System.
"It is important to remember that the Human Energy Field is not something that is separate from the body. It is an extension of the physical, because the peripheral nervous system continues beyond the skin surface, in a very subtle form." The Etheric Body, Emotional Body, Mental Body, Astral Body, Etheric Template, Celestial Body, the Ketheric Template, and the Auric Sheath are all part of the human aura. Again, all of these except the Auric Sheath correspond directly to one of the seven charkas. In turn, the charkas relate directly to one of the endocrine glands.
For instance, the Celestial body, the 6th subtle system corresponds with the 6th charka and the pineal gland. The Celestial Body is regarded as the most beautiful of the subtle bodies (pearl in color) and is the body within which spiritual ecstasy is manifested with in deep states of meditation. It is likely that early Christian artist were representing the celestial body in the "halos" they placed around the head of the Christ and of the saints.
Those are the sorts of things about which we learned from Dr. Kruger's course. In other lessons Rev. Kruger provides a sound introduction to, taking medical histories and clinic operations. One thing I grasped right away was that it is very naive to think one could take a course then put up a shingle and begin to heal the masses.
Dr. Kruger mentioned in one of her lessons that in Africa after one is initiated there is a course (an apprenticeship) of study that may take 6 or 7 years. That seems a bit more reasonable. However, among different interventions I've done and still do using hypno-therapy, NLP, and acupressure it seems like adding some metaphysical healing techniques will definitely help my clients (OK in small doses while I'm learning). My wife, my sister, and my brother all have troubles with there lower backs. All three are bed ridden from time to time painfully unable to move. Now, I don't know what I did to all three of these people (It could be that I'm just a pain in the . . .) but, the least I could do was to offer up some healing. So, I took the course intending to add it to acupressure and hypnosis. We'll see.
The places wherein she talks about the medicine man – shamans out in the bush and their beliefs and approaches to healing are especially entertaining. The African medicine men have an idea that healing is magic mixed with the spiritual. "In African Culture the ancestors could be the spirits of deceased family members who now wish to continue their healing work through the mediumship of the initiate." The idea that there could be a number of spirits hanging around is really spooky to me – pun intended. I find Dr. King's approach using Universal Energy to heal much more appealing.
Tribal healers believe that people who do wrong will cause there own illness and illness for the whole tribe as well. Another belief of the tribal healers encompasses "soul loss" and they conduct soul retrieval to heal. Wow! Anyway, it was all very enlightening and there wasn't any part that I didn't like.
One comment as a caution about 'past life regression', as a practicing hypno-therapist I've been in classes and other situations not in my control wherein neophyte-therapists unwittingly created for their class mates/clients many 'past lives' and even spaceships. Any therapist must be ever so very careful how this type of induction is approached not to mention how it is conducted.
On a popular TV show that is all about UFOs, the staff was investigating where and how the aliens abduct people. During the show they contacted a popular hypno-therapist who was doing "research." This therapist is an avid UFO fan and has "studied" aliens for many years. During an induction they were airing that night the audience should have readily seen that what really happened was an overzealous therapist placed his client(s) right in the middle of an alien spaceship! Neither the client nor any aliens had anything to do with this reality.
To begin with, the very reason that that particular client sought out that particular hypno-therapist was to find other-world aliens somewhere in his (the client's) 'Sub-conscious' mind(s). Both gentlemen were ripe to find some aliens. The entire interlude was completely contaminated. Presupposition is the bane of all any therapy and all religion.
Too much of what therapists believe comes up in the heads of their clients. If somebody wants a past life they can probably find a "therapist" who'll give them any number they want. I do not presume to question someone as important as is Dr. Kruger in the world of metaphysical healing. I do think it is important that all her students clearly understand that induction into any level of hypnosis is a truly powerful process and that an outright novice shouldn't be messing around with it without real guidance. Enough said.

Respectfully submitted,
Thomas A. Voss

Metaphysical Healing Course

Final Essay

This course begins with a bang and just gets better. The thing I enjoyed most about this course was the introduction it provided to the system of spiritual and traditional healing as it is practiced in South Africa. The selection and training of spiritual healers as it is practiced in that society and as explained by the personal experiences of Rev. Katharine Lee Krüger. This was fascinating and in fact, made me a little envious. I wish our own system could involve alternative practices to such an extent and in such an enlightened manner.

I always enjoyed the insights Rev. Krüger provided on the practices of other cultures including the San of the Kalahari.

This course was not just information and theory however. It contained serious practical information about the practice of healing. It provided specific pointers on how to deal with contaminated energy for example. Its explanations of soul loss and soul retrieval were detailed and useful. It is the first description I have ever seen of this process that actually explains enough of the process to enable actual application and practice. The same type of useful detail was provided for past life regressions and other techniques. Another interesting aspect of this course was the explanation of absent healing. Again the practical details are useful enough to actually facilitate application. I also enjoyed the useful information on reading auras as well as the background information on anatomy and physiology.

In addition to this practice information the student was provided with some very sound advice on ethics and the administrative and business aspects of being in practice as a healer. Even though much of this information was set in the context of South Africa where healers work within a defined legal code, I felt it was useful to anyone in any setting who might wish to practice spiritual healing in a competent and professional manner.

Metaphysical Healing

MetaphysicalHealing

Now that these are finished, or nearly completed, I am sending these in.
Lesson 14:
1.) Authoritarian Technique employs a "guided" way of relaxing a Client into trance for healing work to begin.
I kind of like this because it allows the practitioner to have better control over the healing and for the patient to experience a deeper level of healing.
2.) This technique seems a bit too "cutesy" for my liking. It just doesn't seem to go as deep or as far as authoritarian technique.
3.) I do happen to have one of those boring voices that puts Animals and people alike down for the count, either that, or no one listens to me.
4.) Rhythmic voices just don't do much for me unless it is Native Chant Song.
5.) This is beneficial also in my own work at times.
6.) I hope this works, although likely it does.
7.) This also seems to me not to be too effective. Just seems to be too much "sing song" for my liking.
8.) Silent Pause; now there is something sure to work.
Lesson 15:
1.) Progressive Relaxation of the body, creating imagination for deeper relaxation.
Enhancing the trance - like state.
     The Special Place.
     Concluding the Induction.
2.) By imagining that they are drifting down deeper and deeper helps the client to enter a deeper trance - like state.
Assisting people to further deepen the trance - like state, a count is used that usually goes from 10 - 1.
The Special Place the client will choose will be one that is unique to them.
3 & 4.) Yes. People can be uncomfortable or afraid of stairs or elevators. Clients' Subconscious is wide open to suggestion.
5.) I won't be doing this part, as I am not sure what I could possibly say or contribute to this.
Lesson 16:
1 a.) Since I have already been regressed, this last life, prior to the one I am in now, was the happiest I can personally recall.
The Benefits are deep healing and understanding.
Unfortunately, those from my last life, that are "sworn enemies," continue to hound me clear into this life.
b.) Possibly not returning from the journey, vulnerability and jitters.
Lesson 17:
1.) Love, healing and support, not to be made to feel that they are responsible for making themselves sick, death of a Loved One, etc.
2.) No.
3.) No matter how carefully you may plan a magickal ritual or execute it to perfection, there will always be a "40% unseen" which could affect the outcome.
4.) Growth in world Populaces, changes in food handling, increased transport of animals, changes in human behavior, agricultural evolution, human encroachment on wilderness, people living closer to animals, people with lowered immune systems, etc.
